Charles Phoenix Presents Googieland! A Celebration of Atomic Age Architecture and Design

“Googie style is the JAZZ of midcentury Modern style,” says Ambassador of Americana, Charles Phoenix. It went off the rails, shattered all the rules, and unapologetically took the built environment to a place in American culture it had never been before.

With his trademark enthusiasm and stellar collection of images, Charles shares the story of Googie style, from its star-studded birthplace to the vibrant peaks of the 1950s and 60s heyday, to Googie's status today as midcentury marvelousness of the highest order!

So, fasten your seatbelts and prepare to take off to the outer limits of the most fabulous, fun, and fashion-forward coffee shops, bowling alleys, car washes, fast food stands, supermarkets, hotels, motels, and apartments of all time!

Your Googie-lovin' spirit will soar like it never has before!
