South Palm Canyond Drive in Palm Springs, CA with palm trees and Modernism Week banner

Join us for our annual tours of "The Lautner"... famed American architect John Lautner's 1947 residential fourplex formerly known as Hotel Lautner, and now affectionately known as The Lautner. Owners Tracy Beckmann and Ryan Trowbridge opened the doors in 2012 to this award-winning property after an extensive 5 year renovation. Subsequently, they have purchased and designed all of the surrounding properties to introduce “The Lautner Compound" which is a collection of four boutique properties masterfully restored and designed: The Lautner, The Park, The Ranch House, and The Clubhouse.

”The Lautner" operates as an elite vacation rental property allowing architecture aficionados from around the world a chance to live the "Lautner Lifestyle" and is only open to the non-booking public once a year in honor of Modernism Week. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the spectacular and visionary architecture of John Lautner. Lautner is the most famous protege of Frank Lloyd Wright and "The Lautner" is reminiscent of Wright's school of architecture, Taliesin West, in Scottsdale, Arizona where he studied for 6 years. John Lautner was one of last century's important contemporary American architects. His work was concerned with the relationship of the human being to space and of space to nature. Lautner is also known for the Bob Hope residence and the Arthur Elrod residence located in Palm Springs. But don't hold your breath for an invitation to see these private homes!

Your ticket price will also include the opportunity to experience “The Park"–a 10,000 sq. ft. open-air event space, the grounds of "The Ranch House”–a 1957 California Bungalow which is an extension of their guest services for weddings and special events and the grounds of the newly acquired “Clubhouse” available for weddings, special events, and lodging.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the John Lautner Foundation, striving to preserve the Lautner archive; educate the public on the architecture of Lautner; and provide support for the preservation, protection, and maintenance of all Lautner structures. Be a part of this important movement by supporting the foundation so that you too can play an integral role in preserving Lautner's architectural legacy.
