Owned and meticulously restored by designers Tracy Beckmann and Ryan Trowbridge, Hotel Lautner offers guests the rare opportunity to experience architecture as it was intended to be lived in. While the property operates year-round as a boutique hotel, Modernism Week provides one of the few opportunities for the general public to explore this architectural treasure.

Today, Hotel Lautner is part of something much bigger. After years of operating the boutique hotel, the owners acquired the adjacent land and neighboring homes to create The Lautner Compound—a unique collection of hospitality, event, and gathering spaces inspired by thoughtful design, community and the desert landscape. While this tour is limited exclusively to Hotel Lautner, guests will gain insight into how this small architectural gem became the centerpiece of a growing vision.

Guests will tour three of the four original Lautner Living Units. Specific units shown may vary depending on the day and time of your tour. Each residence showcases Lautner's innovative use of redwood, steel, concrete and glass, along with his masterful integration of indoor and outdoor living.

A protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, John Lautner developed a uniquely American architectural language that emphasized the relationship between people, space and nature. While many recognize his landmark residential designs throughout Southern California, this tour offers the uncommon opportunity to experience one of his most intimate and livable works firsthand.

A portion of each ticket benefits the John Lautner Foundation and its ongoing efforts to archive, educate, preserve and protect the work of John Lautner. Your participation helps ensure that future generations can continue to experience and appreciate one of America's most influential architects.
