Built in 1967, Villa Riviera features 30 midcentury residences. Tour eight stylish homes, from original garden atriums to spaces creatively transformed for Modern desert living.

Come visit Villa Riviera, our residential garden community! Our complex has 10 single-story structures symmetrically arranged around broad lawns and a central patio with a generous swimming pool, hot tub and cabana. The five-acre site features eighty tall palms, a variety of fruit trees, flowering hedges and one of Palm Springs’ best mountain views.

Villa Riviera is centrally located near downtown and the airport. Residents enjoy shopping, restaurants, parks, a library, a senior center, and even emergency healthcare, all within walking distance. Residents’ covered parking is located at the east and west borders of the complex, with guest parking on all sides.

The 30 residences are arranged in three distinct wings within each structure, so every home has a visual identity and maximum exterior exposure. Sweeping horizontal roof overhangs shade broad expanses of glass, characteristic of classic midcentury Modern architecture. Inside, space flows into open kitchens and generous bedrooms. Originally, in addition to low-walled front patios, each 1,350 sq. ft. unit included a private atrium, with some atriums subsequently converted to additional interior space. All units include a generous interior storage space or a separate exterior enclosure. The original floor plan of six of the center units included one bedroom; all but one were modified, creating a second bedroom.

Villa Riviera was built in 1967, following the construction of its “sister” complex next door (“Firebird Estates”), making it late midcentury. This was beneficial because windows and insulation were improved during that period.
