Exploring through hands-on engagement with color, participants will experiment with ideas such as simultaneous contrast, after-image, and the illusion of transparency.

Led by Albers Foundation Education Director Fritz Horstman, and using the same materials that Josef Albers’s students used, participants will learn to better see and articulate what they are seeing.

In his role as education director he has lectured and taught workshops at MoMA, the Guggenheim, the Dessau Bauhaus, the Royal Academy of Art, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and more. Horstman’s writing has been published by Harvard University, The Royal Academy of Art, The Bauhaus Archiv and others. Also an artist, his sculptures, drawings and videos have been shown in many international venues.

No prior experience is required. All materials provided.
