Internationally celebrated artist Josh Agle, known as Shag, transformed this classic 1958 Palmer & Krisel Alexander home into an immersive world of art, architecture, color and desert glamour. As the late-afternoon light begins to soften, guests will enjoy signature cocktails, passed bites and poolside music while exploring the house and watching it transition from golden hour into its glowing nighttime atmosphere.

Join Hugh Garvey, Sunset magazine’s Editor-in-Chief; Allison Martino, writer of the feature on The Shag House; and hosts Brandon McBurney and Dexter Camaquin for an evening with the Sunset team. Hear the story behind the feature and meet the personalities who brought it to life. Shag will make a special appearance, joining Hugh, Allison and Brandon for featured remarks at 6:30 PM from the pool stage.

Throughout the evening, explore Shag’s technicolor world, from the intimate Tiki Room, art-filled Living Room and cool retro bar to the wildly imaginative Tropical, Chinese Dragon, Kitty Cat and Cocktail bedrooms. Outside, the celebration continues beneath the expansive covered outdoor living space and around the pool and spa, with cocktails and conversation in the colorful Modfire Lounge.
