The Ocotillo Lodge, built in 1957, once served as a hotel for those lured into the glitz and glamour of Palm Springs living. As part of the larger Twin Palms development, potential home buyers got a preview of the experience of living in the modernist neighborhood. Today, the Ocotillo Lodge is a coveted condo community.

Designed by Palmer & Krisel and built by the Alexander Company, units feature classic midcentury architectural details: concrete block, tongue and groove ceilings with exposed beams, clerestory windows and walls of glass. Famed landscape architect Garrett Eckbo designed the grounds featuring the famous keyhole-shaped pool.

Join us for a talk at the legendary Candlewood Room to learn more about the Ocotillo Lodge’s fascinating history, its rumored guest list, preservation efforts and more. View an exhibit showcasing Krisel’s impact on Palm Springs and then tour five (5) unique bungalows within the property, including a two-story unit that once served as the Alexanders’ private residence.

The Ocotillo Lodge was recognized as a historic district by the City of Palm Springs in 2024. A portion of the proceeds support the preservation and restoration of the Ocotillo Lodge.
