Experience the Icon: Annual Tours of The Lautner Compound

Get ready for your exclusive invitation! Once a year, the doors swing open to "The Lautner," famed architect John Lautner's 1947 residential fourplex—a midcentury masterpiece.

This is your rare chance to step inside and fully immerse yourself in the spectacular, visionary architecture. Owned by Tracy Beckmann and Ryan Trowbridge, the property was meticulously restored over five years and relaunched in 2012. Now, it anchors "The Lautner Compound," a stunning collection of four masterfully restored boutique properties.

As an elite vacation rental, "The Lautner" allows architecture aficionados to literally live the "Lautner Lifestyle." But since it's only open to the non-booking public once a year for Modernism Week, you won't want to miss this!

A Legacy of Design

Lautner, the most famous protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, channeled the spirit of Wright's Taliesin West into this design. As one of the last century’s most vital contemporary American architects, his work centered on the profound relationship between human life, space, and nature. While you might know his jaw-dropping designs like the Bob Hope and Arthur Elrod residences in Palm Springs, this is your chance to actually step inside a Lautner home!

Explore the Compound

Your ticket grants you access to explore the full grounds of the Compound, including:

  • "The Park": A spectacular 10,000 sq. ft. open-air event space.
  • The grounds of "The Ranch House": A 1957 California Bungalow that extends their guest and event services.
  • The grounds of the newly acquired "The Clubhouse" available for lodging and events.

Support the Movement

Be more than a visitor—be a preserver! A portion of your ticket supports the John Lautner Foundation's critical mission to archive, educate, and ensure the protection and maintenance of all Lautner structures. Play an integral role in safeguarding this architectural legacy for future generations.
