Designed by visionary architect William Krisel and built by developer Roy Fey in multiple phases between 1961 and 1966, Canyon View Estates stands out as a masterwork of Desert Modernism—one of the most photographed and celebrated midcentury communities in the country.

Defined by dramatic double-gable rooflines, clerestory windows, decorative shadow block walls, open carports and breathtaking wire-free mountain views, this south Palm Springs enclave embodies the very best of the Palm Springs School of Architecture. Krisel also designed the site plans and initial landscaping: the expansive community spaces with varying elevations, recreational lawns, desert gardens, pools and mountain vistas define the dreamy ideal of Desert Leisure and a feature unmatched by anything built today. This is the only tour encompassing the original HOAs and landscape in this unique community.

For the past decade, extensive investment in desert landscaping has accentuated the bold geometry and pristine sightlines, creating a setting so visually striking that it has become a natural film backdrop—most notably featured in the 2022 film Don't Worry Darling—as well as in international design publications and fashion editorials.
