With pencil, paper, and rulers, explore drawing prompts that lead from point to line to plane to the illusion of space in this expert-led Bauhaus drawing workshop with the Albers Foundation.

Led by Albers Foundation Education Director Fritz Horstman and equipped with just pencil, paper and rulers, participants will explore ideas that Bauhaus students and teachers used to generate new geometric forms. Straightforward parameters will lead to remarkably and deceptively complicated results.

In his role as education director he has lectured and taught workshops at MoMA, the Guggenheim, the Dessau Bauhaus, the Royal Academy of Art, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and more. Horstman’s writing has been published by Harvard University, The Royal Academy of Art, The Bauhaus Archiv and others. Also an artist, his sculptures, drawings and videos have been shown in many international venues.

No prior experience is required. All materials provided.
