Take a ride down the Mother Road as we celebrate 100 years of Route 66, filled with neon signs, midcentury architecture and whimsical details!

Barkev Msrlyan, creator of Merch Motel, has been documenting our roadside relics for several years, showcasing the charm and stories of these eye-catching works of art. You can view his Instagram (@merchmotel) to follow along on his journey. These are the places that inspired his work, which includes retro products, available at merchmotel.com.

Through a collection of contemporary and vintage photographs, we’ll be focusing on the wonderful sites in California. Many of these architectural treasures are still here today! Follow the neon-lined road as we talk about midcentury design, colorful interiors, and playful mascots!
