First Lady of Modernism Week, Nelda Linsk received her star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars in 2018, sponsored by Modernism Week. It broke records for attendance at a star dedication. Beloved long time resident, Nelda Linsk arrived in Palm Springs in 1962 and has been a continuing influence on the culture, architecture, fashion, art and design of the city.

This celebration at the downtown Palm Springs Walk of the Stars location of Nelda's star will feature an unveiling of the refurbished star and will reveal for the first time added language enhancing the already noted Humanitarian designation of the star. Nelda's star also includes Poolside Gossip, a reference to a Slim Aarons' photograph of Nelda and some friends around a swimming pool in 1970. Nelda is the woman in yellow.

On this anniversary of Nelda's star dedication, Modernism Week rededicates Nelda's star adding 'First Lady of Modernism Week' to the granite tribute. A celebratory crowd with guest speakers and music will begin Modernism Week 2026 festivities.
